Alison Krauss was born July 23rd, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois. LeAnn Kymes, along with Krauss, were among the youngest Grammy Award-winners. Alison Maria Krauss, born July 23, 1971 is an American musician and singer. Her first job was in the world of music at a very young age. at the age of 10 she was a winner in local contests and recorded her debut album. When she was 14, she released her first solo album, after joining Rounder Records. Then, she was invited to join Alison Krauss Union Station, her current band that she sings together. The first album she released together as a band came out in the year 1989.
